Note: Disney is allegedly strong arming drive ins into dictating what combination of movies they must show for the next three weekends (or the number of showings?) if the venue wants to screen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 on the opening date. Also allegedly taking a higher percentage of the film receipts. Several drive ins have stated their decision on social media that they have opted out of this rather than kowtow to Disney's demands.
I'd suggest buying more concessions if you see it on opening weekend as the outdoor theaters under this contract are making even less money from the box office receipts. Otherwise wait until it is past the third week or second run with a movie chosen by the venue.
