TThe title of this blog is "Chicago" Drive in theaters but there are no outdoor theaters currently in the city of Chicago.
I write about the nearest outdoor theaters within reasonable drive times. The *maximum* distance is around 125 miles from downtown Chicago. One of the few that still has dusk until dawn features on holidays is near that maximum and will be included. I have personally attended the four closest theaters in Illinois and the single closest of Wisconsin and Indiana.

A new season is beginning this weekend (April 2, 2010). The Cascade Drive in theater (W. Chicago, IL), Route 34 Drive in (Earlsville, IL), Melody Drive In (Knox, IN) and the Triway Drive in (Plymouth, IN).
